For the past few years, I have been writing about theatre about real events: Theatre of the Real and Dramaturgy of the Real on the World Stage are two recent books (both published by Palgrave). I have also written Dance Marathons: Performing American Culture of the 1920s and 1930s, a book about the popular entertainment form that flourished during the Great Depression. My current project is the changing performance of large stage objects: tables, beds, and chairs.
