My background is libraries and research in several areas related to performing arts -- and my attempts to move these areas of research into dh. Namely, I am interested in costume design for film and theatre, Yiddish theatre and NYC history. I am working on a project related to costume design using big data. I have expanded Yiddish theatre interest to include a walking tour that is available through an app created for the iPhone. I am the Librarian for Media, Film Studies and Performing Arts at Columbia University. I am a visiting associate professor at Pratt SILS and Palmer SILS -- I teach courses in Digital Humanities (library focus), Film and Media Collections and developing a new course for this summer -- Researching Local History -- Cities and Towns. I am an advocate for more bikes on city streets.
