I am a New York based director, collaborative artist and educator; my work frequently focuses on Mythology and Ritual, exploring how ancient stories and practices perpetuate themselves in our contemporary, day to day lives. I create work that explores specific mythological stories, as well as historical events and scientific breakthroughs that have taken on mythic significance. Currently, I am working on three research-based theatre projects, both in and outside my university. The first, TREE ARMY: The CCC Project, looks at the history of the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC and will be a full length theatre piece that explores the CCC in terms of its impact on work and class, environmental sustainability, and conflict and transformation in 1930’s America. The second project, FLOWING THROUGH OUR HANDS LIKE MOONLIGHT: The Higgs Boson Project, looks at modern particle physics and the process of making order out of chaos. The third project is THE LATVIA PROJECT, which uses memory and history to wrestle with notions of personal mythology and national identity.
